Tour Hotels in Kantishna, Alaska

Kantishna Roadhouse
Kantishna Roadhouse
The original roadhouse at Kantishna was built in the early 1900s, serving as a private residence, a community center, a post office, and informal accommodations for those who came visiting in Kantishna. Many nights were spent spinning tales of the trail over a hot cup of coffee and a hearty meal. You can still see the old log structure and other remnants of the past at the back of our property.

Kantishna Roadhouse has evolved from a gold miner's tent camp into a modern Alaskan resort with a rustic flavor. In 1986 a tent camp was established to feed and house a federal mineral survey crew assaying surrounding claims. Word of this unique camp experience spread and its popularity grew. Through the years, additional guest cabins have been built to accommodate growth. They now offer 32 full-service cabins. The beautiful log lodge was built in 1993, adding an expanded dining area, a new library resource room, a hand-crafted bar, and a spacious lobby.

Denali Backcountry Lodge
Backcountry Lodge
Denali Backcountry Lodge offers thirty comfortably appointed cedar cabins. Each cabin is heated and enjoys its own private bath -- unexpected luxuries for such a remote location. Dining and lounge areas are found in our spacious two-story lodge. We hosts special natural history presentations by our staff and many featured guest speakers. Two outdoor gazebos near Moose Creek are great places to relax, and a suspended foot bridge spanning the creek offers access to many hiking trails.

Dining at the Lodge

When it comes to meals, you'll be treated with great food prepared by our chefs and hospitality staff.

Hot breakfast is served buffet style. For lunch, a hot soup and sandwich buffet is served in the lodge, but most guests pack up a lunch for their day's explorations. At the end of the day, everyone is invited to join our naturalist guides for gourmet appetizers and a recap of the day. Evening dinners are served family style in the lodge. All of our food is fresh, hearty, and wholesome. If you have a dietary consideration or special food request, just let us know. And if you're celebrating an anniversary or special event, let us know ahead of time so we can "surprise" you.

Beverage Service

Juices and sodas are available from the lounge cooler. Our informal bar service features draft and bottled beer, wine, and cordials.
